Based on the features and capabilities of more advanced simulators produced by Redbird, the Redbird TD is perfect for saving money while enhancing your skills. As an FAA approved BATD (Basic Aviation Training Device), instruction in the TD can be logged towards the requirements of a Private Pilot Certificate or Instrument Rating. In addition, rated Instrument Pilots can use the simulator to maintain currency. Based on a generic single engine piston airplane with an integrated Garmin G1000 with GFC 700 autopilot, the TD is packed with functionality and capability second to none.

The following training and experience is approved:

10 hours toward an instrument rating (FAR 61.65(e)(2))

2.5 hours toward the aeronautical experience for a private pilot (FAR 61.109 (k)(1))

Instrument currency (FAR 61.57 (c)(1))
