COMMERCIAL PILOT

Commercial Pilot (Part 141)

The Commercial Pilot Certificate is required for individuals who want to fly for compensation or hire.  It is the first step to becoming a professional pilot.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age

  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language

  • Hold at least an FAA Private Pilot Certificate w/ Instrument Rating

  • Obtain at least an FAA Second Class Medical Certificate

  • Pass an FAA Knowledge Test (Written)

  • Pass an FAA Practical Test (Oral and Flight)

Cessna Commercial Pilot Course (Part 141)

 

Aeronautical Experience

  • FAA required 120 hours total time

  • Must Include:​

    • Minimum 55 hours instruction

      • 10 hours complex airplane, or technically advanced airplane training

      • 10 hours instrument training

      • One 2-hour dual cross-country

      • One 2-hour dual night cross-country

      • 3 hours checkride prep

    • Minimum 10 hours solo

      • 1 cross-country at least 250NM with three landings

      • 5 hours night (10 takeoff and landings)
